Many famous and beloved cartoon characters shaved their heads to show their support to the kids who have cancer and are undergoing the chemotherapy treatment. The solidarity project, called “Bald Cartoons”, became a reality thanks to Brazilian cancer charity and hospital operator GRAACC.
The aim of this original and eye-catching campaign is, first of all, to show the kids, who had to shave their heads due to the chemotherapy, that they are not alone in this and shouldn’t feel ashamed of their appearance that became different from their peers. Hopefully, seeing their beloved cartoon characters sporting their shaved heads with pride and confidence will boost the self-esteem of these kids. This is a small, but important step towards a more tolerant society and happier kids – the emotional state that might even help to increase their chances to get better and even overcome the illness.
