There’s a whole generation that grew up with Disney movies baby-sitting them, as our parents thought it was a safe choice for kids and we got practically able to recite them. Christine Gritmon and Nick Nadel, however, saw a different side to these animation classics: they created a series of Disney movie posters, which ironically sum up the plot in a tired and seen-it-all adult language. Most of their captions do cast a whole different light on the well-known stories!
Even though you and I may have thought that Beauty and Beast is a wonderful story about how true love disregards the facade, Christine and Nick label it as a classic example of the Stockholm Syndrome, when victims grow affection for their wrongdoers. You’re also advised to spay and neuter your pets in order not to end up with 101 dalmatians and to remind your daughters that they shouldn’t change everything about themselves for a man, like the Little Mermaid did. How do you feel about these messages?
