We are the couple Sabinna and David, a fashion designer and a software engineer living in London. A year ago we started recreating looks and outfits from interesting paintings. Every week we are selecting a new piece of art that we then transform into a modern street style look.
The idea was born a year ago when we were at an exhibition in Vienna and realized that Sabinna was wearing the exact same dress and make-up as one of the painted ladies. Later we started to look through Sabinna’s clothes and accessories and compare them to what women were wearing in paintings that we know. We were surprised how many pieces actually looked the same. Once the research part was completed, Sabinna copied the hair, the make-up and the facial expressions from the painted women. The whole process is very challenging but great fun. And you won’t believe how great some looks turn out when you get inspired by art. So far we have recreated the art work by Jean Gabriel Domergue, Veronica Andrievskaya, Kapena O, Katy Smail and many more.
