Creepy, chubby and Buddha-like baby-shaped pears – that’s how Chinese farmer Gao Xianzhang is planing to market his goods. What’s more, these disturbing pears are already retailed in China and have a name “happy/joyful doll pears“. Obviously, the result exceeds the expectations, as “happy” and “joyful looks creepy and disturbing. Pears that used to look normal and appropriate before are just plain weird now. Who would actually want to eat a fruit, that looks like fetus?
We will never know why, but we can most certainly learn how. The fruit get this particular shape in its initial stages of growing. They are placed in special molds and are forced to grow into them. But afterwards, when the pears get their new shape, they continue to grow and uphold their fresh form of chubby babies on their own.
