Chloe Giordano, the embroidered and illustrator from Oxford, England whom we wrote about earlier, is back with more beautiful, colorful, needle-painted animal embroidery. Many of them have a sense of eternal stillness about them, which, as one of her followers correctly noted, is because she often uses dead animals as models.
“My secret is out – a lot of my reference comes from dead animals,” she writes on her Tumblr. “I find the sadness combined with how peaceful they often look endlessly interesting.”
Giordano’s technique is called, appropriately, needle painting. She uses a wide array of colored threads, sometimes using several needles with different threads at a single time, to blend colors and “paint” with strings.
