Created by writer and designer Richard Littler, the Scarfolk Council internet archive offers us a surreal, disquieting, but often humorous glimpse into a British town that is forever locked in the 1970s. By addressing the dystopian past the site also satirizes the present via a hauntological smorgasbord of public information posters, book covers, LP and cassette sleeves, toys, pages from school textbooks, and even audio ‘field recordings’.
“Visit Scarfolk today. Our number one priority is keeping rabies at bay. For more information please reread.”
