Every traveler deserves a home, according to travel rental Airbnb’s new marketing campaign. And it delivers on this message by constructing 50 houses for the ultimate and most carefree travelers – birds. Each and every birdhouse is a precise replica of an actual accommodation listed on Airbnb’s vacation-rentals website. Created by the Pereira & O’Dell ad agency together with a group of talented miniature prop artists, birdhouse specialists and ornithologists, these tiny homes are now on display and open for visits by our winged friends at the Audubon Park in New Orleans until December 22.
The use of birdhouses calls to mind migratory birds and the freedom of flight, inviting those of us who love to travel to always feel at home, even when we’re abroad. That’s what Airbnb is all about – people make other people feel welcome by renting their rooms, houses, wagons, etc. ”Our hospitality is completely individual and designed by our hosts who know that making people (or birds!) feel at home anywhere in the world comes from warmth, intuition and an attention to detail. We love the world’s real travelers, and this is an invitation to travel in a new way,” said Amy Curtis-McIntyre, CMO of Airbnb.
