Once upon a time a photo was taken and it was cherished. But years passed and the photo was forgotten, now a collection of these beautiful images are reborn into new works of art, breathing new life into what was once old.
I spend many hours on each image, researching the story behind the photo and person. I put a lot of passion into my work, everything is made in Photoshop, it’s amazing to share my vision with the world and I finally put my work up for sale on http://fineartamerica.com/profiles/william-sikora.html and will be adding more work regularly. Leave a comment and let me know what you think!

Walk The Plank!

The photo of the children was taken by August Sander, a German who photographed every type of person he came across in an attempt to capture German society as a whole. Sander took over thirty thousand pictures in his lifetime. Unfortunately the majority of those images, and their negatives, were destroyed because the Nazis disapproved of his simple portrayal of the Germans. I took one of his 11,000 remaining images and dove into the imagination of the kids putting them in a children’s theatre pirate ship about to walk the plank and into the mouth of a hungry crocodile.

Lights Out

This image is of a girl riding inside a traveling circus wagon in Germany. Her arm was outside of the small window staring into the camera. I did this when there was a super moon outside, it inspired me, so I took her and made her live in the moon and had her flicking off the light switch to tell the world “Goodnight.”
