Spectacular Photos By Photojournalist Sebastião Salgado

Sebastião Salgado is one of the most famous and respected photojournalists working today.

Sebastião Salgado has been awarded numerous major photographic prizes, he is a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, and an honorary member of the Academy of Arts and Sciences in the United States.

He was born on February 8th, 1944 in Aimorés, Brazil. Salgado studied economics, but after going on business trips to Africa, in 1973 he switched to photography.

“I hope that the person who visits my exhibitions, and the person who comes out, are not quite the same, I believe that the average person can help a lot, not by giving material goods but by participating, by being part of the discussion, by being truly concerned about what is going on in the world.” – says the photographer.
