Puffed lips, sexy curves, innocent looks and various household appliances. Sounds like a typical pin-up girl photoshoot, just this time it’s pin-up men with their beards, beanies and armpit hair. Photographer Rion Sabean tells a rather gender-bending story with his humorous project “Men-ups!“.
As Sabean describes himself, this photo series is “a restructuring of the ways in which males are presented in popular media, applying traditional pinup poses that are reserved for the female form, while still presenting the models in ‘masculine’ clothing.” Through its funny form, the project aims to reverse the gender stereotypes, created by the society.
