Photographer Christophe Jacrot says “there are two ways of capturing the world for a photographer; on the one hand grasping its horror, and on the other sublimating it.” Christophe chooses the second option and takes pictures in rainy, snowy or otherwise bad weather as it “awakens a feeling of romantic fiction“, reserving the glimpse of the world through the photo-camera’s lens in an imposing and noble way.
Capturing cities in rain might unveil a whole new urban perspective to most of us, as generally we try to hurry and hide away from it, without paying much attention to what the world looks like in bad weather. “This universe escapes most of us, since we are too occupied getting undercover. Man becomes a ghostly silhouette wandering and obeying the hazards of rain or of snow, into the eternity of the climate,” – says Christophe.
Christophe Jacrot’s artistic target is mostly various cities. And the background or the surrounding aura, so to say, is always the same – nature’s elements in action.
